Doggie cops can now write tickets

Sherri Hall and Laura MacKenzie are getting appointed as Municipal Enforcement Officers. The two have been Canine Control officers since 2007.

Canine-control officers having the same power as a bylaw officer to write tickets has been New Tecumseth's practice in the past.

An oversight in the bylaw appointing Hall and MacKenzie as canine-control officers didn't allow them to write tickets for canine offences.

As a result a bylaw officer had to return to canine-related charges to write tickets.
