All three were shaken up, but did not sustain serious injuries, firefighters said. They were taken to Stevenson Memorial Hospital as a precaution.
The woman was driving south on the 7th Concession of Tosorontio, when she lost control of her Land Rover Discovery. The SUV crossed into the northbound lane and entered the ditch, before rolling and coming to a rest in a cornfield.
A person in a nearby house saw smoke, and called 911, reporting it as a vehicle fire on the road. When Adjala-Tosorontio firefighters arrived, they found the woman and the two young children, still in their car seats, waiting in the ditch. The woman had freed herself and her children.
The SUV was almost completely hidden by the over six-foot hight corn stalks. Several cars drove by the accident without noticing it, firefighters said.
Firefighters and paramedics treated the three victims at the scene, before they were taken to hospital by ambulance.
Both children were in properly-installed child car seats, which protected them from serious injury, firefighters said.
