Police arrested a 19-year-old Mississauga man today in connection with a stabbing that almost killed a Tottenham teen early Saturday morning.

The man was arrested in Barrie and charged with aggravated assault with a weapon.

Nottawasaga OPP were called to Queen Street North and Western Avenue near the Tim Hortons/Dairy Queen in Tottenham at about 4 a.m. Saturday. Police found 16-year-old Connor Kee lying on the ground with two stab wounds in the chest.

As reported in the Alliston Herald today and at www.allsitonherald.com first yesterday, Connor and his friends were walking down Queen Street, when they passed another group of people. The two groups got into an argument, and Connor punched one of the other people.

As he was walking away, another man came up behind him and stabbed him twice in the chest.

He was taken to hospital with a punctured lung and three severed arteries. He was released yesterday.

Charged with aggravated assault with a weapon is Richard Briscoe, 19, of Mississauga.

He will appear in Provincial Offences Court in Bradford at a later date.

In the meantime, police report that they are still actively investigating the incident.
