Work is being planned for the Nicolston Bridge on Highway 89.

A study released earlier this week proposes widening the road leading to the bridge to four lanes, replacing the steel girders, deck slab, and bearings. It also suggests adding new traffic barriers and adding two retaining walls on the north side of Highway 89, west of the bridge.

The full study is available for viewing in Alliston at the Town of New Tecumseth clerk's office, 10 Wellington St. E., the New Tecumseth Public Library Memorial Branch, 17 Victoria St. E. Copies of the study are also at the Township of Essa clerk's office, 5786 County Road 21 Utopia, and the Innisfil Public Library, 19 Queens St., Cookstown.

Public comments on the study are being accepted until Oct. 6.
